SUMMARY:Summer Vibes with Ainsley Friesen
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, August 22 for an evening of live music by Ainsley Friesen\, wood-fired pizza and book a reading with our friend Maureen Morrish. This is summer vibes in Manitoba! \n \nSinger Songwriter Ainsley Friesen is always challenging herself. Her repertoire includes acoustic guitar-based folk songs\, piano-based\, jazz inspired melodies\, rock ballads\, and most recently\, her take on pop. Ainsley can be described as alternative folk\, with influences ranging from icons like Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks to contemporary artists like Natalie Merchant\, Norah Jones and Rufus Wainwright. \nClassically trained in piano and voice\, and a skilled guitarist\, she combines warm\, clear vocals with powerful and insightful lyrics. Lessons learned from life’s victories and defeats have infused her songwriting with a confidence and beauty that grow richer with time. \nAinsley’s music can be found on all listening platforms\, as she has released four albums\, two EP’s and three singles to date. Originally from Brandon\, and after living in Winnipeg for several years\, performing and networking\, Ainsley now resides in rural Saskatchewan with her husband and three dogs and one cat. She owns and operates a music studio\, teaching lessons\, and prefers living life at a gentler pace. \nVisit her links: \nhttps://ainsleyfriesen.ca/ \nhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxzwobwNgtJ-ZnokfyxLbQA \nhttps://www.facebook.com/ainsleyfriesenartist/ \nhttps://www.instagram.com/ainsleyfriesenmusic/ \nShe will fit right in with our Moon Gate vibes. Another human who fits in at Moon Gate is Maureen. We highly recommend a card reading with her whether new to Tarot or familiar. \n \nMaureen Morrish\, Tarot Card Reader \nMaureen served for over four decades as a front-line worker and counselor for Youth at Risk. After retiring\, she moved to her cottage in a small lakeside community\, where she lives with many birds and wildlife; her cats\, Olive and Girl Stan Lee; and her dog Sarah Jeannie. She enjoys fishing\, bird watching\, dabbling in writing\, and she is self-employed as a Tarot Card reader. \nShe has been a professional tarot card reader for 6 years\, and offers a 10 card Celtic cross reading with the Mythic Tarot Deck. Readings take 30 to 35 minutes at a cost of $50 a reading. Please bring cash or e-transfer. \nTickets for the performance are $15 per person. RSVP to moongateguesthouse@gmail.com with guest names and e-transfer. You can book your card reading in advance or in person. Let’s have some summertime fun!

SUMMARY:Métis Kitchen Party
DESCRIPTION:Anyone who has met Michel knows his passion for food. It started with an idea\, then he built Rusty\, our wood-fired oven and created wood-fired pizza nights. Now we’re inviting guests to join us around our family table for a Métis Kitchen Party\, our new culinary experience. \nExperience the fun of a traditional Métis Kitchen Party at Moon Gate! With seasonal feasts\, live music\, dancing\, and our famous wood-fired pizza\, these events bring culture and community to life. The culinary theme will work with the rhythm of the season and on occasion we’ll invite performers 🎻 to entertain\, because what’s a kitchen party without music and dancing?! \nJoin us for themed menus throughout the year. \n\n🔥 MÉTIS KITCHEN PARTY 🔥 \nSaturday\, September 19 \nFall Harvest • Fire • Smoke • Music • Dancing\nThe days are getting shorter\, the evenings are getting cooler\, and the harvest is making its way from the land to our tables. \nJoin Michel and Jenny on Saturday\, September 19 for another Métis Kitchen Party — a celebration of fall\, good food\, good company\, and the simple joy of gathering around a table together. \nFor us\, a kitchen party is about more than a meal. It’s about bringing people together\, sharing what the land has given us\, telling stories\, making a little music\, having a laugh\, and staying a while. \nThis time\, we’re celebrating fall harvest\, fire and smoke\, with a menu inspired by the local bounty of the Whitemouth River Valley — ingredients grown and raised close to home\, prepared with care and cooked slowly over fire and smoke. 🍂 \n🌾 FROM THE LAND TO OUR TABLE\nFire & Smoke Chicken\nSucculent smoked chicken\, raised right here in the valley\, served alongside tender spare ribs\, slow-smoked and finished with our homemade BBQ sauce. \nMaple Baked Beans\nHomemade beans\, sweetened with Canadian maple syrup and slow-cooked over an open fire until rich\, smoky and full of flavour. \nLocal Corn on the Cob\nSweet local corn\, boiled and slathered with melted herb butter. \nClassic Baked Russet Potatoes\nBaked potatoes served with sour cream and fresh chives. \nSlaw & Bannock Biscuits \nCardamom Carrot Cake\nA scrumptious homemade carrot cake\, warmly spiced with cardamom and topped with maple syrup icing. \n🍁 TO DRINK\n❤️ Flavours-from-the-land inspired mocktails\n☕ Trails End Coffee\n🌿 Wild Mint Tea \nAnd\, as always\, you’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic drinks. We’ll have the glasses and ice ready. \nMusic \nJustin Lacroix\, our country neighbour\, will be playing and singing for you. We’re so grateful to have him and his family as part of our community. \n” A little folk\, a little rock\, and a lot of heart! That’s what you get from Justin Lacroix ” – London Free Press \nWinnipeg’s bilingual singer-songwriter Justin Lacroix infuses the timeless sounds of blues\, folk and roots-rock into a soulful experience. Through his stories of love\, loss and life on the road\, Justin shares a message of optimism and connection to the world around him. \nCheck him out by clicking this link. \n \n✨ Great food. Good company. Lots of laughter. Music. Dancing. \nCome hungry. Come thirsty. Bring your stories\, your dancing shoes\, and your appetite. \nPull up a chair. Sit around the table. Stay awhile. \nThat’s what a kitchen party is all about. ❤️ \n$60 per person purchased in advance. RSVP by September 14 so we can plan this special evening just for you. \nTo save your spot at our family table\, message us with the names of your guests\, then send your e-transfer to moongateguesthouse@gmail.com. \n🔥 Seats are limited\, and this one is sure to sell out.\nBook early and come celebrate the harvest with us!
