Earth Air Fire Water Elements

Celebrate the beginning of Summer…on Water

Have you tried stand up paddle (SUP) boarding yet? Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or not, this experience on the Whitemouth River will be a memorable one.

This is what happens when two Metis businesses collaborate.

Itinerary:

Thursday, June 27

4pm Arrive at Moon Gate and get settled in. Explore the land, play with our dogs Pedro and Ska, visit the chickens, take a river walk, read, relax, watch the sunset (9:40pm) then join us by the fire for star gazing.

Friday, June 28

9:30am-12pm For the early birds, watch the sunrise at 5:19am, have breakfast then join our guide, Lesley Gaudry of Nature’s Edge Tourism for some SUP on the Whitemouth River. Lesley has been a long time friend of Moon Gate. She aims to provide you with memorable, outdoor, guided experiences. Watch for birds and other wildlife.

12-2pm Break for lunch that you brought or head over to Spicy Radish Café as a group and enjoy their patio. Everything you order here is top notch. Pack up and check out your bags before you head out for lunch. They can be stowed away in your car or in the guest house.

2-3:30pm Join Jenny for a plant walk and learn to identify common “weeds” used for tea or food. After a short exercise to connect you with the land, with baskets and your journal in hand, you will learn how to harvest plants sustainably and with respect for the Earth.  Whatever you harvest, you get to take home or add it to your pizza later on. Enjoy some free time before dinner.

5-7pm It’s time for you know what…Pizza! All our pizza is hand made, mostly organic, locally sourced ingredients, and cooked on fire. Choose your favourite, then just before serving you can add the greens that you just foraged. Yum!
