Connect with what matters at
Moon Gate Guest House
At Moon Gate we provide you with a highly calming space where you can connect with yourself and Mother Earth.
Moon Gate Guest House offers a soul nurturing space on the banks of the meandering Whitemouth River. It’s an Indigenous (Métis) owned, eco-friendly, year-round guest house that provides you with a place to grow, to heal, to reconnect with yourself and loved ones, to be inspired, experience timelessness, connect with the magic of nature, and flow like the river.
We acknowledge that Moon Gate Guest House is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene and Metis people. Moon Gate is located one hour east of Winnipeg, accessible, yet remote from your everyday life. A sanctuary from technology, cell phones, and constant connectivity. Disconnect from your busy world with us for a few days to connect with nature and to what really matters.
Our Rooms
The guest house has been sustainably created for your best retreat experience. Out of respect for nature, we chose to harness energy from the Earth with geothermal heating and cooling and supplemented with solar power. The TV and WiFi free guest house offers a space free of electromagnetic frequencies that are harmful to our bodies and nature. Our smaller footprint will give you peace of mind with no emissions into the environment. Feel the difference after just one night.
Open Spaces
The self catered breakfast is included with your room, consisting of wood-fired sourdough, fresh eggs, hand crafted-jams, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, cream and butter. Prepare your own breakfast at your leisure. We focus on local and organic as much as possible.
Feel at home in the well appointed living room and kitchen that allows for 20 or more people for a special dining experience and ample space for larger groups or gatherings and events such as house concerts, workshops, quilt making, yoga, and meditation retreats.
Sweat it out in our 90-degree Finnish-style sauna that seats six comfortably. The steam, known as löyly to the Finns, translates to ‘spirit, breath, and soul’. When Mother Earth is asleep, this is the next best thing to a ceremonial sweat lodge. The most important thing is to relax, be quiet or socialize, drink lots of water and enjoy the blissful post-sauna feeling of having cleaned both your body and your mind. Essential oils and smudging in the sauna are encouraged.
The riverside gazebo is your intimate spot to read, nap or listen to birds chirping. There is a fire-pit area with wood supplied and a BBQ for grilling. Moon Gate is wheelchair accessible with all amenities on the same level. There are two shared bathrooms.
